AOTEAROA ART FAIR 2025
01.05.25–04.05.25
AAF25
All three artists show a keen interest in history and heritage, and in questions of belonging. They are ‘dreamers’, who drift between the realms of reality and imagination, as well as past, present, and future. Riley’s expressive wood carvings combine poses from European and Asian art with Māori forms. Coleman’s immaculately rendered, shape-shifting paintings explore the complexities of memory and emotion, especially in relation to place. Townsend works at the intersection of her Māori, Pākehā, and British lines, creating works that honour ancestors, atua, and the natural world. Drescher creates elegant, hand-finished furniture that celebrates the traditional and looks to the future.
